The third year of the full-scale war became a severe test for Ukrainian business. Continuous terror by Russian occupiers against infrastructure, constant shelling, disruptions to energy supply, and losses from missile strikes could not help but affect businesses. At the same time, even under such conditions, Ukrainian entrepreneurs managed not only to endure but also to find opportunities for growth.

Budgens, a brand-new convenience store in East Grinstead, is fully fitted with Modern Expo’s energy-efficient Pro A Chillers and Freezers. They consume up to 75% less electricity than standard refrigerators — using only around 3.2 kWh per day — and operate whisper-quiet.

Modern Expo is bringing Conveniq micro-markets to the market — autonomous retail outlets powered by artificial intelligence. Why is this a new retail trend, and what makes it innovative? Over the past few years, Modern Expo, a manufacturer of retail equipment and last-mile delivery solutions, has been actively developing the micro-market segment — autonomous retail points that deliver a full sales cycle without any staff involvement.

Lutsk-based Modern Expo is selling parcel lockers to the UK’s Royal Mail and launching unmanned micro-markets. Its goal is to grow 2.5 times over the next five years. How will it achieve this?
